Murray State NCTE chapter holds student poetry contest

Students in grades 6-12 are invited to celebrate National Poetry Month by entering a poetry contest sponsored by the Murray State University chapter of the National Council of Teachers of English. Poetry takes center stage in state competition

Reciting a poem over a hundred years old, but with feelings still relevant today, Grant County High School sophomore Haley Bryan won the Kentucky Poetry Out Loud state competition. Her chosen poem in the final round was Revenge by Letitia Elizabeth Landon.
