A free workshop on teaching economics through children’s literature will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. CT Sept. 29 in Room 2003 of Gary Ransdell Hall at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.

This workshop, offered by the WKU Center and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ Louisville Branch, will introduce elementary school teachers to basic economic concepts.

Attendees will receive classroom-ready, standards-based, printed curriculum materials with whiteboard applications; interactive, hands-on instruction; and information on how they can use the lessons to meet Program Review requirements. Participants also will receive a copy of “Uncle Jed’s Barbershop” by Margaree King Mitchell, and three hours of professional development time.
