Kentucky Humanities has been awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to expand the Prime Time Family Reading Time program to 20 public schools during 2018 and an additional 20 schools in 2019.

The school-based program is a six-week reading, discussion and storytelling program held at public schools. A university scholar and a storyteller who act as discussion leaders conduct weekly storytelling and discussion sessions based on award-winning children’s picture books. Participants are elementary-age children and their families.

The application deadline for spring 2018 and fall 2018 is Jan. 31. Visit the Kentucky Humanities website for more information or to apply, or email Kathleen Pool for more information.
