Applications and nominations are being sought for the 2026 National Forensic Science Teacher of the Year Award.

This award recognizes exceptional educators who inspire student interest and excellence in forensic science.

As part of National Forensic Science Week (Sept. 20–26, 2026), the Consortium of Forensic Science Organizations will honor one outstanding high school teacher and one outstanding higher education instructor who demonstrate dedication, innovation, and impact in forensic science education. Award recipients will receive a commemorative plaque, recognition through national social media channels, and an invitation to tour a forensic laboratory or agency in their area.

Teachers who dedicate at least 50% of their time to working directly with students, teach a forensic science course, and hold a valid teaching certificate are eligible to apply. The deadline is Aug. 1. Visit the 2026 National Forensic Science Teacher of the Year Award application page for more details.
