The University of Kentucky Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences is hosting Earth Day weekend half-day field trips April 21 and 22.

Ancient Seas: a Geology Field Trip in Frankfort will be April 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET.

Participants will learn about rock formations, groundwater, faults, ancient earthquakes, fossils and geologic time in, hands-on experience suitable for learners of any age.

Led by faculty of the UK Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, this trip would be appropriate for families, educators, students and anyone interested in the environment.

Karst Landscapes and Hydrogeology in an Urban Setting: a Geology Field Trip in Lexington will be April 22 from 1 to 5 p.m. ET.
