Students ages 12-18 from school- and community-based arts programs in the Southeast region are invited to submit their original artwork for the Young Artist Award, Art Education Partnership’s (AEP) national spotlight of talented visual artists.

The winning submission is featured on the cover of the National Forum program booklet and the student receives an honorarium, along with special recognition at the opening session of the Forum. The deadline for entries has been extended to July 9, 2012.

The theme of this National Forum is Arts Learning Without Borders.

Those interested may send an original work of visual art that responds to, reflects, or is inspired by the following quote:

 Study the science of art.

Study the art of science.

Realize that everything connects to everything else.

– Leonardo da Vinci

All genres of visual art are welcome, but should not include any text in the artwork.

Submissions should be two-dimensional, available in electronic format, at least 8.5” x 11” in size and 300 dpi. E-mail entries along with the application and release forms to aep@ccsso.org by the deadline. Write “AEP Young Artist Program” in the subject line.

Late and/or incomplete competition entries will not be accepted. Please include the AEP Media Release Form with your entry.

AEP will make a donation to the winning student’s art teacher for the purchase of art supplies. Additionally, the winning student and his/her art teacher are invited to attend the National Forum as artist ambassadors for their school or organization.
