The Kentucky School Public Relations Association (KYSPRA) 2013 Fall Conference, “Communication: A Team Effort,”  will be held Nov. 7-8 in Bowling Green, will and focus on the role of school communications as part of a district team and the community at large.

Sessions are for individuals with communication roles and responsibilities, whether as a full-time role or as one of many hats (superintendent’s administrative assistants, community education directors, Family Resource and Youth Services Centers staff, etc.).

Topics on Thursday include developing a district media plan; social media for administrators or public relations (PR) for beginners; working with local news media (large and small market panels); and sharing stories through photography or video.

On Friday, sessions include topics such as partnering with law enforcement; legal issues in school PR; and a superintendent’s panel on school communication. Friday will conclude with the annual OASIS Awards Banquet at noon.

Sessions are eligible for EILA credit.
