REL Appalachia released a study that should be of interest to all superintendents. The study looked at 11th grade students who did not reach ACT benchmarks and tracked the students to 12th grade to see how many students took senior level transition courses. It also looked at how many students passed the transition courses paving the way to college-ready status. The full report can be found at the following link: http://1.usa.gov/1bKb9c3.

Education Commissioner Terry Holliday’s blog has more about the study and what the Kentucky Department of Education will be doing in 2014-15 to track senior year interventions for students who do not meet ACT benchmarks.
