The implementation of new science standards has encouraged science education professionals to seek help from one another and science ed experts to make the transition as smooth and effective as possible.

For 41 years, the Kentucky Science Teachers Association’s annual conference has provided a comprehensive array of professional development offerings packed into an intense three-day period. This year, the conference will be Nov. 6-8 at the Lexington Hyatt Regency and Lexington Center.

Strands:

• Assessment: Using formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and evaluate student growth

Content: Taking a deeper look at the new standards, changes from the previous standards and connections to college and career readiness

Teaching strategies: Applying the cross cutting strategies and engineering practices from Next Generation Science Standards in classroom instruction.
