The 2014 Opportunity Youth Summit, hosted by the Kentucky Department of Workforce Investment, will be held Nov. 17 and 18 in Louisville. First Lady Jane Beshear will give the keynote address; other speakers will include Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson and Miss Kentucky Ramsey Carpenter.

The first day of the summit will include an overview of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Attendees on the second day will have the opportunity to choose sessions focused on four tracks: Serving In-School Youth, Serving Out-of-School Youth, Performance and Technology, and Employer Engagement.

Sessions will focus on work experience for students with disabilities, social media, tech-ready apprentices, in-school transition programs, using individual learning plans to support career pathways and more. For more information, go here; to register, go here.
