Science Friday is celebrating observation – and we’re challenging you and your students to get out and observe everything! #ObserveEverything is a nationwide invitation to practice the essential skill of observation with Science Friday’s large community of scientists, students, parents, and educators. It’s a great opportunity to complement the inquiry-based instruction you’re doing with students … and have a little fun with multimedia creation at the same time.

Here’s how to participate:

  1. Observe something that interests you
  2. Record your observations as data, images, film, audio, or graphics.
  3. Share your observations on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, or Vine with the hash tag #ObserveEverything, or e-mail your submissions to scienceclub@sciencefriday.com
  4. Explore what everyone else is observing! We’ve already seen spider, rock, weather, and plant observations, and more people are contributing every day.

Submissions will be highlighted throughout October on www.sciencefriday.com and on our social media feeds. We will discuss #ObserveEverything submissions and the art of observation on the Science Friday radio program on Oct. 24.  Learn more at: http://www.sciencefriday.com/scienceclub.
