The National Council for History Education (NCHE) is accepting applications for the 2015 Paul Gagnon Prize, which will be presented to either a K-12 history teacher who exhibits exceptional historical scholarship or an individual or group that has made a significant contribution to the promotion of history education.

The prize, named for the NCHE’s first executive director, seeks to encourage continuing scholarship by K-12 history teachers and the promotion and protection of history education in state and local K-12 curricula.

The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize and will present at the 2016 NCHE National Conference.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 5. For information on how to apply, visit this page.
