Teachers are invited to apply for the Library of Congress Summer Teacher Institutes, a series of week-long professional development opportunities this summer in Washington, D.C.

During the week, participants will draw from sources in the library’s collections to design and refine a primary source activity to use with their students. In the following school year, they are expected to implement a primary source based activity and share outcomes with Institute staff and their session cohort, and they have the option of completing additional work to pursue graduate credit in history from George Mason University.

The library will offer five sessions:

  • Open sessions, June 22-26, July 6-10 or July 27-31
  • Science, July 20-24
  • Civil rights, Aug. 3-7

The application deadline is March 24. Click here for more information.
