The Kentucky Shakespeare Competition, sponsored by the Kentucky Branch of the English Speaking Union (ESU), will be held March 1 at Bellarmine University in Louisville.

Part of the ESU’s National Shakespeare Competition, the school-based program provides teachers across the country with a performance-based program for the study of English/language arts and Shakespeare. High school students develop communication skills and an appreciation of the power of language and literature through the competition.

Students read, analyze, perform and recite Shakespearean monologues and sonnets in three qualifying stages: at the school, community and national levels.

The entry deadline is Feb. 25. Click here for more information.
