High school students interested in creative writing are invited to the inaugural Purchase Area Writing Workshop June 14-19 at Murray State University.

Students will work on their own creative writing with MSU professors and working writers, while living on campus during the week of June 14. Residential workshop activities will include film screenings and opportunities to hear speakers talk about issues that will engage students’ critical and creative thinking. In addition, a group of visual art students from area high schools will be in residence on campus during the week, which will add to the creative atmosphere of the workshop.

Students may stay on campus or commute from their homes. Full and partial scholarships are available.

Registration fees are $350-450. The registration deadline is April 30; scholarships will be given on a rolling basis, so students are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Click here for more information or to register.
