The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Louisville Branch is offering “Teaching Economics Through Children’s Literature,” a series of free professional development workshop on personal finance and economics July 8-9 in Louisville.

The workshop will teach educators how to use popular children’s stories and the whiteboard to spark students’ interest in personal finance and economics. Free, downloadable lessons and Notebook and Activinspire files will allow students to experience economic and personal finance concepts and make lessons in economics fun.

Workshops will be held July 8 for primary elementary teachers (grades K-2) and July 9 for intermediate elementary teachers (grades 3-5), both from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lessons, books, breakfast, lunch and free parking will be provided.

The registration deadline is June 30. Email Erin Yetter for more information or click here to register.
