Entries are being accepted for the National Family Partnership’s National Red Ribbon Week Photo Contest, which is held to prevent drug use and educate youth in conjunction with Red Ribbon Week, Oct. 23-31.

Students and families can decorate their home’s front door, mailbox or fence or schools can decorate their campus with a double-looped red ribbon and the theme, “Respect Yourself. Be Drug Free.” School decorations should be in a visible location on campus.

Students should take a photo with their decoration and upload it or have it uploaded to the contest website by Nov. 3 (you must be at least 18 years old to upload a photo), then ask family and friends to vote for their entry Nov. 4-18. The winners will be announced Dec. 4.

Ten families in the home decoration category with the most votes in each region will win an iPad for the family and $1,000 to be used toward drug prevention at a K-12 school of their choosing. Ten schools in the school decoration category with the most votes in each region will win an iPad for the school employee or PTA member who entered on behalf of the school and $1,000 to be used toward drug prevention at the school.
