The University of Kentucky-Jewish Heritage Fund Holocaust Education Initiative is offering high-quality professional learning opportunities this Spring from May 21 through June 5.

In these workshops, they: 

  • Consider best practices in teaching hard histories;
  • Discuss trauma-informed pedagogy;
  • Build context for teaching the Holocaust;
  • Provide strategies and classroom resources for teaching about the Holocaust; and
  • Feature first person testimonies, especially from those with Kentucky connections.

Virtual workshops will be held May 29, June 1 and June 3-5 in the evening. In-person workshops will be held in in Mt. Washington, Owensboro, Fort Thomas, Louisville and Lexington on a variety of dates.

A stipend of $250 or 10 hours of professional development is offered for all 6th – 12th grade Kentucky teachers attending a workshop.
