Are you a physics faculty in a Kentucky high school, two-year college, four-year college, or university? If so, do you know about the Kentucky Association of Physics Teachers (KAPT)? KAPT is a state section of the American Association of Physics Teachers.
KAPT holds two annual meetings: one in the spring and one in the fall, in conjunction with the Kentucky Academy of Science. These meetings are an opportunity to network, showcase research in physics or physics education and outreach, and participate in workshops.
KAPT holds its fall meeting in November at the Kentucky Academy of Science. If you attend the Physics and Astronomy section of the Kentucky Academy of Science annual meeting, you’ll interact with KAPT officers of the Kentucky Association of Physics Teachers. The section moderators are the current president of KAPT, Marylin Aikens, and Secretary-Treasurer John Waite.
The spring meetings are held independently in late March or early April and include a morning meet and greet, presentations by members and students, and an afternoon workshop on topics of interest. In the spring of 2024, the workshop examined AI in the physics classroom.
