Locally grown vegetables like corn, potatoes, squash, carrots, and apples will now be a part of the meal pickup for Jefferson County families at meal sites throughout the county thanks to a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant. Locally grown corn, squash, carrots and apples will be on the dinner menu for families visiting Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) feeding sites this summer. JCPS will be providing boxes filled with 11 pounds of fresh produce at more than 40 feeding sites from until July 31.

Boxes are now available once per week at all 40 drive thru locations. Included with each box will be a flier with easy recipes, fun facts about the food items and ways to involve children in the preparation or cooking.
