Kentucky Educational Television will host “Echoes and Reflections: Leaders in Holocaust Education,” a professional development program for middle and high school teachers, March 17 in Lexington. Echoes and Reflections is a comprehensive Holocaust education program that prepares educators to teach about the Holocaust in a way that stimulates engagement and critical thinking and allows students to see its relevance to their own lives.

The program promotes an interdisciplinary approach to teaching about the Holocaust; addresses academic standards using informational text and primary source documents; incorporates compelling visual history testimony into 10 lessons to engage students in lives of survivors, rescuers, liberators and other witnesses of the Holocaust. It combines the experience and resources of three Holocaust education leaders: the Anti-Defamation League, USE Shoah Foundation and Yad Vashem.

The event is free, but advance registration is required. Click here to register.
