Registration is open for the Kentucky Historical Society’s 2016 Kentucky History Education Conference June 23 at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History in Frankfort. The theme of the conference for K-12 educators is “Taking a Stand in History.”

There will be a keynote presentation from the Kentucky Humanities Council on its school programs, a Chautauqua performance of U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall, sessions on proven inquiry strategies and activities for history classrooms, information from history scholars and local history professionals, and the Kentucky Historical Society’s education resources. The conference also includes an optional field study bus trip June 24 to Frankfort and Louisville.
