The Frazier History Museum is hosting a professional learning program focusing on the Kentucky State Capitol on Nov. 4 at the museum in Louisville.

“The History and Artistry of Kentucky’s State Capitol Building” features architectural photographer Thorney Lieberman, who recently published “The Kentucky State Capitol Building,” and representatives from the Kentucky Historical Society (KHS).

Participants will:

  • Hear a presentation by Lieberman and Jon Park, director of constituent services for Gov. Matt Bevin and author of the introduction in Lieberman’s book. The two will share stories of the grand building, as well as the process of photographing and developing the book;
  • Participate in an interactive session led by KHS staff members as they share activities, ideas and primary source documents related to the history of the capitol;
  • Explore another collection of Kentucky-related photography in the Frazier’s temporary exhibition, “Family Gathering: Linda Bruckheimer’s Kentucky;” and
  • Receive resources for use in the classroom.

The program is free, but advance registration is required. Call (502) 753-5664 to register or email Megan Schanie for more information.
