The International Museum of the Horse (IMH) at the Kentucky Horse Park will host a free teacher day April 8 to allow teachers to experience what the museum and the park have to offer school groups.

The park and the museum offer field trips throughout the year for students that connect to both Kentucky standards and teachers’ class curricula. Students can visit the museum, the Kids Barn, the Hall of Champions, the Big Barn and the Breeds Barn, with picnic-style lunches.

The Kentucky Horse Park Field Trip Fund offers admission support for any school in which at least 50 percent of the students qualify for free or reduced-price meals for trips taken from March 31 through May 31. A bus fund is also available to offset transportation costs.

During the teacher day, teachers will meet the IMH education coordinator and will have the rest of the day to enjoy the park’s daily shows, the IMH and the American Saddlebred Museum.

Email Ashlee Chilton with your name, school and grade to register for the teacher day, and click here for more information on scheduling field trips.
