The Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum is offering free virtual design field trips to students nationwide. The hour-long program has separate sessions for students K-3 and grades 4-12.

The sessions on Zoom provide an introduction to the design process, a tour of Cooper Hewitt’s collection and a brainstorming activity. Students will need a piece of paper and a writing tool.

The virtual field trips are for minimum of 15 students and a maximum of 30. A teacher must be present. The field trips take place at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET on weekdays, from Jan. 4 through June 11.

Registration is open online for Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum’s virtual design field trips. Participants must register at least three weeks in advance.
