Three Kentucky teachers and FFA advisers who advised national FFA award winners were recognized at the FFA Convention Oct. 25-28 in Indianapolis.

Bland Baird, an agriculture teacher at Spencer County High School, served as coach of the Spencer County FFA team that won the dairy cattle evaluation career development event. This is the eighth time since 2006 that Spencer County has won this event.

Wes York and Magen Woods, agriculture teachers at Caldwell County High School, served as advisers to Hannah York, a Caldwell County FFA member who was the national winner in agriculture sales entrepreneurship proficiency.

In addition, Kentucky FFA Association adviser Brandon Davis, a program consultant in the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Career and Technical Education, received the Honorary American FFA Degree for his service on the National FFA Foundation Board of Trustees over the past three years.
