Students were full of smiles, and sandwiches, as they as they experienced a school bus in a new way during the Jefferson County Public Schools’ and the Kentucky Department of Education’s kick off of the 2013 Summer Food Service Program. JCPS unveiled the Bus Stop Café last week, a renovated bus with tables and benches lining the windows and a cooler full of boxed lunches and milk cartons. It will visit neighborhoods and public pools were a need has been identified, offering free meals to students 18 and under during the summer break.
