Winter has hit Kentucky hard this year, especially compared to last year’s very mild winter. Students will cringe when making up the days in the spring, but if you ask them now, they are excited for a snow day. And who can blame them if the snow accumulates enough and it provides a sledding opportunity.

I found a few students braving the arctic blast and enjoying a popular sledding hill in Frankfort. Their cheeks were flushed from the cold, but they were warm with the fun of sledding down and running back up the hill over and over.  A nearby mug of hot chocolate beckoned if they got too chilled.
