Woodford County High School yearbook adviser Dan Ruff needed to get a head start to prepare his students to create the best yearbook they could. This summer he held the first Woodford County High School yearbook camp.
The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts celebrated 25 years this summer. The three-week residential experience is intended to mimic an intense college conservatory atmosphere. It is held on the campus of Transylvania University in Lexington.

Science experiments are underway every day in schools across Kentucky. Students enjoy the hands-on activities and teachers like to get in on the fun, too. This is a small collection of science I’ve seen happening over the past few months.
A beautiful day makes for a wonderful field trip. As was the case when 2nd-grade classes from Southern Elementary School (Fayette County) visited the Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort.
Known around town as Nurse Nellie, Nellie Hewitt is the school nurse for Bedford Elementary School and Milton Elementary School in Trimble County.
My assignment: two students and their teacher who discovered something in space. This sounded like a great opportunity to create a concept photo, one that went beyond teachers and students working in a classroom. But what could the photo be?
