GlyptusAnn Grider Jones, information officer III, Division of Communications, Office of the Commissioner. "I've enjoyed everything I get to be involved in and working with everyone on the team to highlight the great work happening within KDE and in classrooms and schools."

GlyptusAnn Grider Jones has been a part of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) team since April 2022.

“Everyone is very dedicated to the mission of the agency, and that has stood out to me as a real highlight,” said Jones. “It’s like a team mission and everyone comes together, and that’s what I’ve really loved seeing in my year here.”

As an information officer and awards and recognition coordinator at KDE, Jones highlights exemplary educators, students and schools in the Commonwealth. She organizes events such as the Milken Educator Awards and the upcoming 2024 Kentucky Teacher of the Year recognition ceremony.

“I deal with a lot of programs, so I get to see a wide range of excellence and talent in Kentucky schools,” she said. ”Anything we can do to recognize and support that work is the most valuable to me.
