Asbury University will be offering online leadership courses this fall including a Principal Leadership Program.

Courses for the Principal Courses – Level I include:

  • Leading Teaching and Learning
  • Assessment/Monitoring Performance
  • Collaborative Performance Appraisal
  • Financial Resources/Personnel Selection
  • Professional Learning Communities
  • Financial Resources/Legal Responsibilities
  • Leading Differentiated Instruction
  • Organizational Structures
  • Using Data/Student Achievement
  • Capstone Project: School Improvement

Level II courses include:

  • Modeling Highly Effective Leadership I (practicum – clinical study)
  • Modeling Highly Effective Leadership II (practicum – clinical study)

The Asbury model will guide the school leader in building a bridge between research and the classroom, linking field-based projects to the new work that is needed in the organization.

Admissions requirements for Principal Leadership Program are:

  • master’s degree
  • three years teaching experience
  • written statement documenting knowledge and skills in teaching and learning
  • three letters of recommendation
  • dispositions for leadership
  • GRE scores
  • teacher evaluation summary
  • interview
