Ben Maynard, digital learning coach in the Kentucky Department of Education’s Office of Education Technology (OET), received the Making IT Happen award from the Kentucky Society for Technology in Education (KySTE).

“I love our districts in Kentucky. OET has been supporting districts for over 30 years,” he said. “The Kentucky Education Technology System (KETS) that all our districts are part of has given me and our team the opportunity to be of service.”

Making IT Happen is an internationally-recognized award program for educators and leaders who have been instrumental in the field of educational technology integration in schools. KySTE accepts award nominations from active members only.

As a digital learning coach, Maynard provides services to Kentucky’s school districts to assist in sponsoring the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP), professional learning opportunities for administrators and teachers, providing guidance for best practices for digital instruction, online and virtual program supports for districts and more. The award is a testament to his dedicated and passionate education technology work.

“This has been some of the most fulfilling work I’ve done over the course of my 20-plus years in education,” said Maynard. “I couldn’t be prouder of the work districts in our state are doing for our Kentucky kids.”
