School is a passion for new Floyd County superintendent Anna Shepherd

Anna Shepherd was named superintendent for Floyd County schools on July 26, replacing Danny Adkins, who resigned and is now superintendent of Woodford County. Awarded a four-year contract, Shepherd previously served as chief early childhood officer and interim superintendent in the district.

Sixteen new high schools get funding to start new KYTSA chapters

The Kentucky Technology Student Association (KYTSA) will start 16 new high school chapters this fall thanks to a generous donation from Stan and Karen Pigman. All 16 schools are in the southeast region of Kentucky and will receive funding to start and maintain an active KYTSA chapter.

24 Kentucky Valvoline Teacher Achievement Award winners named for 2021

The Kentucky Department of Education and Valvoline Inc. have selected 24 outstanding Kentucky educators as recipients of the 2021 Valvoline™ Teacher Achievement Awards (TAA). These teachers qualify to compete for the 2021 Kentucky Teacher of the Year Award which will be announced in October.
