Gov. Andy Beshear’s Office, in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education, has opened the nomination window for the 2023-2024 Kentucky Education Support Staff Professional Award.
Following last week’s ruling from the Franklin Circuit Court that found portions of House Bill 563 unconstitutional, leadership from the Kentucky Department of Education convened district leaders on Oct. 12 for its monthly superintendent’s webcast to answer questions surrounding the legislation.
Shelly Thomas from Barren County and Robert Walker of Harrison County were presented with the KESSP Award on Jan. 19. The newly created state award honors excellence by classified school employees and will be given annually.
