Kentucky superintendents learn more about new School of Innovation pilot project during webcast

Senate Bill 263 (2026) amended KRS 160.125 to create the school of innovation pilot project, which runs until June 30, 2028. For the 2027-2028 school year, two Kentucky schools may each receive up to $2.5 million through the school of innovation pilot project.

KBE approves school of innovation designations for Covington Independent, grants waiver requests related to two regulations during special meeting

Under KRS 156.161, a school district may request a school of innovation designation through waivers for schools or programs for the purpose of providing innovative educational opportunities to students.
