The Congressional App Challenge is the official student STEM competition of the U.S. House of Representatives. It’s an annual nationwide competition hosted by members of Congress designed to inspire middle and high school students to explore STEM fields.

Middle and high school students who live in or attend school in a participating congressional district are eligible to take part in the Congressional App Challenge. Students can enter individually or as part of a team of up to four members. Each participant may only submit one app and may only compete in one district.

The Congressional App Challenge is all about inspiring the next generation of coders and tech innovators. It gives students a platform to showcase their creativity and programming skills, whether they’re passionate beginners or experienced developers. The submission deadline is Oct. 30, but here’s the good news: any app coded after Oct. 24, 2024, is eligible. This means students can submit projects they’ve worked on in class, as personal passion projects, or even a fresh, new idea they’ve just come up with!
