The U.S. Department of Education has launched the Presidential 1776 Award, a nationwide competition recognizing exceptional student knowledge of America’s founding.

This award program is open to high school students and includes a first-round online exam, followed by regional semifinals and a nationally broadcast final Civics Bee in Washington, D.C. Winners receive scholarships up to $150,000.
