The Kentucky Center for Mathematics (KCM) and the Partnership Institute for Math and Science Education Reform (PIMSER) invite interested educators to attend an upcoming informational session to learn more about the Kentucky Numeracy Counts K-5 Teacher and Administrator Academies, through the Kentucky Numeracy Counts initiative.
These academies are designed to support elementary teachers, instructional coaches, principals and district leaders in strengthening mathematics instruction and implementing effective practices aligned to Kentucky’s mathematics standards.
Participants in the academies will engage in professional learning focused on:
- Effective Mathematics Teaching Practices;
- High-Quality Instructional Resource (HQIR) implementation;
- Building student understanding and mathematical fluency; and
- Leadership strategies to support strong mathematics instruction across schools and districts.
Two virtual informational sessions are being offered to allow interested educators to learn more about Cohort 2 for the academies, hear the goals and structure of the programs, and ask questions.
The virtual sessions will be held April 7 at 1 p.m. ET and April 23 at 9 a.m. ET. Please visit the Kentucky Numeracy Counts Academies information session registration page to sign up.
