As a follow-up to the recent Superintendent Focus Group on IDEA Monitoring, the Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE’s) Office of Special Education and Early Learning is launching a new “Myth Busters” series through the office’s weekly “News You Can Use” publication to address common misconceptions we’ve heard from districts across the Commonwealth.

To further support this effort, we have also developed a Myth Buster topic submission form, which will allow district staff to anonymously share questions, concerns, or misconceptions you would like for us to address. We encourage you to use this tool so we can respond directly to real-time needs across the field. This effort is part of our broader commitment to strengthening communication, increasing transparency, and ensuring districts have clear, accurate, and actionable information to support their work under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
