Nominate your school for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s School Garden Squash Challenge!

The competition is open to K-12 schools in Kentucky with an active garden. Students create an original squash-based recipe using ingredients grown from the school’s garden.

Teams of up to 10 students with an adult sponsor will be accepted. Selected schools will compete at the 2026 Kentucky State Fair!

The nomination deadline is May 29 and selected schools will be notified by June 4. Visit the 2026 School Garden Squash Challenge registration form for more details.
