Where can you go to get a haircut, dental screening and a new pair of shoes? For parents and students in Mercer County, Readi Fest provides an opportunity to check of many back-to-school needs in one place.
This was the fourth year for the event, held at Mercer County High School. The goal is to remove barriers for students and their families at the beginning the school year. District Health Coordinator Angie McDonald said the event has gotten bigger every year. Almost 400 students benefited from Readi Fest this year.
Students can get physicals, dental screenings, eye exams and hearing screenings. They also can get a haircut, a pair of shoes and school supplies.
“We are so fortunate to have such a supportive community that believes in the importance of Readi Fest,” McDonald said.
