(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is seeking feedback on draft state performance goals proposed by the Perkins V Steering Committee for the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act.

This is the first opportunity for public review and comment on the performance goals. A second opportunity will be provided when the full draft state plan is released.

The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, also known as Perkins V, requires KDE to provide stakeholders with the opportunity to provide written comments, which shall be included in the state plan, regarding proposed state levels of performance on each indicator.

Individuals and organizations may review the draft goals and share feedback and suggestions through Oct. 25 for use in the development of the performance goals for the draft state plan. Feedback and comments will be considered and any needed revisions made before bringing forward a final set of proposed goals for further comment and eventual release of the full state plan.

The proposed performance goals can be reviewed on the Perkins webpage. Comments and feedback can be sent via email to octestinfo@education.ky.gov.
