(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is working on transforming the Commonwealth’s assessment and accountability systems and needs your input through a stakeholder feedback survey.
KDE and the Kentucky United We Learn Council have been working on prototypes for reimagined assessment and accountability systems that will prioritize innovation, personalization, local community and student voice, and the incorporation of vibrant learning experiences.
The council has been developing a number of prototypes that describe how Kentucky might revise its assessment and accountability systems to align with the council-adopted moonshot: “To build a prosperous Kentucky, we will launch an accountability system that is meaningful and useful to all our learners.”
To achieve this ambitious goal, we need your input.
KDE staff and Kentucky United We Learn Council members want to hear directly from education stakeholders across the Commonwealth as we work toward a system that supports our students and strengthens our communities. The department also is seeking input from all districts through Kentucky’s education cooperatives and conducting focus groups with 36 school districts to provide feedback.
“Together, I know we can be ‘All In’ toward building assessment and accountability systems that give our students the best opportunities possible,” said Commissioner of Education Robbie Fletcher.
To learn more background and explore specific details about the assessment and accountability prototype, visit KDE’s Reimagining Assessment and Accountability Prototype Resources webpage, where you also will find the link to a survey. Please complete the survey no later than Oct. 4.
