A threat was made on Facebook against the Kentucky School for the Deaf. When the threat was discovered, the Danville Police Department and the Kentucky State Police were notified at about 2 p.m. ET on Friday, and the campus went into lockdown. There were no students on campus at that time.
The lockdown was lifted at 2:40 p.m. after the Danville Police Department searched the campus and nothing was discovered. Staff at KSD and the Kentucky Department of Education thank the Danville Police Department for their quick response, and we will provide as much assistance as possible to determine who made the threat. The safety of the students and staff in Kentucky’s schools will always be our top priority.
