September is National Preparedness Month. The annual observance provides an opportunity to remind all Kentucky residents that they must prepare themselves and their families to be ready for an emergency throughout the year.

This year’s National Preparedness Month will focus on planning, with an overarching theme of “Disasters Happen. Prepare Now. Learn How.” This initiative is sponsored by Ready, a national public service campaign designed to educate and empower the American people to prepare for, respond to and mitigate emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters.
