Carter Davidson, the Kentucky Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) state president, was selected to serve as the FBLA national director of programs and on the National FBLA President’s Executive Council.
Gov. Andy Beshear announced on Nov. 22 the launch of the new Everybody Counts program that will help every Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) graduate who doesn’t currently have a plan for after graduation to secure one of three pathways: a job, postsecondary education or both.

Kentucky FFA was well represented at the 94th annual National FFA Convention, which was held Oct. 27-30 in Indianapolis. More than 60,000 FFA members, advisers and guests attended the convention, which is the largest youth organization gathering in the United States.

The Kentucky Technology Student Association (KYTSA) will start 16 new high school chapters this fall thanks to a generous donation from Stan and Karen Pigman. All 16 schools are in the southeast region of Kentucky and will receive funding to start and maintain an active KYTSA chapter.
The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) announced 10 Grow-Your-Own (GYO) program grant recipients at an Aug. 16 press conference. These districts will receive a one-time, $50,000 grant to further boost the Commonwealth’s teacher talent pipeline, with the goal of providing all students with a high-quality education.
Kentucky FFA students were selected as finalists for the National FFA convention & Expo in areas of proficiency and the agriscience fair, and chapters across the commonwealth were chosen as finalists for national recognition. Students and chapters will participate in online interviews this fall. Winners will be announced at the 94th National FFA Convention from Oct. 27- 30 in Indianapolis.
More than 80 middle and high school students from 12 schools represented Kentucky during the 2021 Technology Student Association (TSA) National Conference, with several bringing home awards. More than 5,000 students from across the country participated in the first National TSA Conference to be held virtually.
