UPDATE: This symposium was cancelled due to weather and will be rescheduled.

The Kentucky Department of Education, in coordination with the Western Kentucky Educational Cooperative, is sponsoring a free Global Symposium Jan. 22 at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park in Gilbertsville.

These day-long events — which run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT — are for school and district personnel who have responsibility over Global Competency/World Language Programs, including the Program Review process. The symposium will focus on sharing practical methods for developing global competencies via integration across the curriculum and current models of effective world language programs for K-12 Kentucky schools. EILA credit of up to 6 hours is available, if approved by the district.

There is no charge for the symposium; registration is required and may be found here. Registration closes Jan. 11. Email Kelly Clark for more information.
