College Board offering update on AP testing

On March 20, the College Board released an update on how the Advanced Placement (AP) program is supporting this year’s AP exam administration. Within this email, College Board called out a few bullets that are within the AP Central update page that you can find College Board website.

Picking up the tab

For the second straight year, KDE will cover the cost of Advanced Placement exams for students eligible for free and reduced-price meals that would otherwise be paid by districts.

KDE pays 2016-17 AP test fees for qualifying students

In an effort to increase students’ opportunity to take Advanced Placement exams, the Kentucky Department of Education will underwrite the cost of the tests in the 2016-17 school year for students who qualify for free and reduced-price lunch.

Students score higher on Advanced Placement tests

Kentucky students who took rigorous Advanced Placement tests in May scored higher according to data released from the College Board. In fact, the number of students scoring at the top two levels is up between 4 and 5 percent from last year.

Number of students taking AP tests up; scores higher
