Jefferson County Schools adding fresh produce to summer meals

Locally grown corn, squash, carrots and apples will be on the dinner menu for families visiting Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) feeding sites this summer. JCPS will be providing boxes filled with 11 pounds of fresh produce at more than 40 feeding sites from until July 31.

Kentucky State Police to hold virtual summer camp

Registration is now open for the Kentucky State Police’s (KSP) free virtual summer camp hosted from Trooper Island on Dale Hollow Lake. Virtual campers will earn a certificate and camp patch for completion of the program that begins on June 30 and runs every Tuesday and Thursday through July 30.

Does your school nurse’s office have a CLIA certificate?

The federal Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services regulates laboratory testing through the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certification program. Any person or facility that performs laboratory tests on human specimens for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment is required by federal law to have a CLIA certificate.
