The Kentucky Department of Education has formed a Trauma Champions Team, which has participated in the Trauma Informed Care for Educators and School Personnel Learning Collaboration. The goal of this work is to educate teachers and school personnel about the impact of childhood trauma on learning and how to implement strategies to help these children thrive in an academic environment.

In addition to providing training and support at a district level, the team plans to develop resources that educators can readily access. One such resource is a guide from The National Child Traumatic Stress Network called Back to School Resources for School Personnel. The Trauma Champions Team plans to launch a webpage with compiled resources in the near future.
